Hi
I have a new slot on my FAC for a .303 with a plan to fill it this year 😁 I have various other modern rifles but the Lee Enfield is a new one for me.
Roughly what price should I be looking at for a decent quality rifle ? I am off to the shooting show this month for a look around as well.
ThanksCraig Moore, Daniel Powell and Neil Wragg-

to be totally honest I do not have one So just starting to research the options. I wouldn’t want to buy the cheapest nor the most expensive so I guess midrange.
I also have to bear in mind that it won’t get as much use as the other rifles I have.-
I spent ages looking for one. Dealers seemed to be wanting silly money for rifles that looked like they’d been thrown around in a cement mixer. I’m talking £650+. Eventually I bought one privately in great condition that had been FTRd in the 50s and well looked after, excellent wood and bore. Cost £450. If you’re a member of a club getting talking to the old boys, there’s some real gems hiding in their collections. Some guys are looking to thin collections or are shooting less due to their health, and some sadly even pass away and their collections get sold on.

Cheers Jason , this is my concern and I think that’s a great point ! I am a member of a club that is mainly old boys ( I am the youngest at 45!)
I will do some polite asking around and see if I can grab a bargain 👍🏻 -

Hi James, you may already have one by now but if not have a look on MFL classics website, I bought a No4 mk1* in 2020 for £450, the barrel is like new and it shoots really well, Steve who owns the shop also does gunsmithing on lee Enfields so what ever he sells is checked over and in good working order before it leaves his shop.
