      This week's women's Wednesday.
Allow me to introduce Georgia, a 24-year-old from Wiltshire who has lived in the countryside her entire life. Georgia's story is deeply intertwined with the art of shooting, a passion she inherited from her father, a skilled marksman with a lifelong commitment to the sport. Growing up surrounded by the sights and sounds of shooting, Georgia's journey into the world of marksmanship began before she could even walk.
Around six years ago, Georgia decided to delve deeper into shooting, driven by the desire to master the craft independently and safely. Armed with a 20 bore Beretta, a trusty companion that she plans to use indefinitely, Georgia primarily engages in driven game shooting. However, her recent foray into rifle shooting reflects her versatile and expanding interests within the discipline.
One of the remarkable aspects of Georgia's story is her acknowledgment of the diversity in shooting styles. Recognizing that each shooter has a unique approach, she encourages others to find what works best for them, emphasizing that the ultimate goal is to have fun. This perspective not only underscores her maturity as a shooter but also highlights the inclusive and supportive nature of the shooting community.
Georgia candidly addresses the challenges she has faced, particularly the realization that shooting styles vary among individuals. Her advice to not compare oneself to others resonates with a valuable lesson in individuality and self-discovery within the sport.
However, it's not all accolades and victories for Georgia. She expresses concern about the rising expenses associated with shooting. In an era where the cost of participation is on the rise, Georgia laments that this trend might deter people from keeping their guns or fully enjoying the sport. Her perspective sheds light on the broader issues affecting the accessibility of shooting as a hobby.
In essence, Georgia's introduction paints a portrait of a young shooter deeply connected to her roots, passionate about her craft, and mindful of the challenges facing the shooting community.
