AirMaks Krait Pro Compact Review

A full review of the AirMaks Krait Pro Compact in .177.

The AirMaks Krait Pro .177 is an exceptionally well-engineered pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) rifle that blends agility, modularity, and pinpoint precision in a compact package. At just 610 mm in length and weighing about 3.45 kg (unscoped), it’s impressively manoeuvrable without feeling toy-like—ideal for field use or target shooting.

One of its most striking features is the rock-solid Arca-style handguard rail, paired with M-LOK and Picatinny mounting options, giving users real flexibility to mount bipods, accessories or support gear. The extended top optic rail is also noteworthy: the 20 MOA incline and integrated bubble level help ensure alignment and consistency every time.

Shooting this rifle is a joy thanks to its fully adjustable two-stage match trigger. The side-lever cocking action is oversized and reversible, accommodating both right- and left-handed shooters. The magazine is a rotary drop-in design with 18-shot capacity (.177) and importantly includes an anti-double feed system for reliable loading.

The Krait Pro is in my opinion the perfect anti rat gun or just general close quarters pesting PCP!

Performance-wise, the Krait Pro is exceptionally consistent. It uses a 300 cc carbon air bottle that yields around 300 shots per fill, and a Huma-Air regulator helps maintain stable shot-to-shot pressure. On test, it stayed just under 12 ft-lbs (legal UK power), yet produced tight, groupable accuracy out to 40 meters.

Ergonomically, the rifle offers a high level of customization: the cheekpiece, butt-hook, and length of pull are all adjustable to suit individual shooters. The pistol grip is a Fab Defence rubberised beaver tail and is very comfortable. The finish also impresses — a partially FDE Cerakote coating gives the rifle a rugged, tactical look while protecting it from the elements.

On the downside, its premium price (around £1,899) reflects the high-spec design and may be steep for beginner shooters. Additionally, while 300 shots per fill is respectable, other PCP rifles with larger reservoirs can offer more.

In summary, the AirMaks Krait Pro .177 is a standout for precision shooters who demand a compact, high-performance PCP rifle. Its thoughtful design, adjustability, and consistent shot behaviour make it a top pick — just be prepared to pay. – Rack.
